Paige Barnes & NWFF present #shanghaipulse: A Dance-Video Installation & Screening

Northwest Film Forum invites you to join choreographer-dancer-videographer-acupuncturist Paige Barnes on November 11 at 7pm for an evening of dance videos, live pulse reading, and a discussion of empathy. Barnes has spent the last five years completing a study of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture. The combination of embodied research and Chinese Medicine in her studies has informed her choreographic practice, resulting in two collections of one-minute dance videos: #danceadayinshanghai and #pulsereadingproject.

4Culture’s e4c Gallery seeking media artists

September 11, 2017

Through Sep. 27 at 5pm, 4Culture will be accepting applications from media artists to present at e4c, their storefront gallery in Pioneer Square. Up to 12 artists will be selected to present work that will be displayed for up to one year on their street-facing screens. Each selected artist will receive a $500 honorarium!

  • Today we launched a beautiful, user-friendly new website featuring a filterable events calendar. Even the font is cinematic – GT Cinetype is a design engineered for a cinema subtitling machine that uses a laser to selectively erase the color layer of the film to make brilliantly white letters.

Northwest Film Forum & Abramorama Announce The Seventh Art Stand

NEW YORK, NY – A coalition of movie theaters across the United States announced today The Seventh Art Stand, a nation-wide series of film screenings and discussions. An act of cinematic solidarity against Islamophobia, the Stand will take place in May 2017, with over 30 locations in 18 states confirmed.
