Northwest Film Forum invites you to join choreographer-dancer-videographer-acupuncturist Paige Barnes on November 11 at 7pm for an evening of dance videos, live pulse reading, and a discussion of empathy. Barnes has spent the last five years completing a study of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture. The combination of embodied research and Chinese Medicine in her studies has informed her choreographic practice, resulting in two collections of one-minute dance videos: #danceadayinshanghai and #pulsereadingproject.
From among innumerable wonderful films, after a week and a half of spellbinding screenings and absorbing talks with filmmakers from all over the northwest, we are very happy to announce the honorees of the festival!

Sudeshna Sen is Northwest Film Forum’s new Board President. She has served on the board since 2014, most recently as Vice-President.
Through Sep. 27 at 5pm, 4Culture will be accepting applications from media artists to present at e4c, their storefront gallery in Pioneer Square. Up to 12 artists will be selected to present work that will be displayed for up to one year on their street-facing screens. Each selected artist will receive a $500 honorarium!
The Arts & Innovation 2017 Mayor’s Arts Award is awarded for originality, ingenuity, and resourcefulness within the creative sector, and may include projects that weave together arts and technology, connecting new sectors, creative work in emerging industries, or transformational approaches to established genres.

With an aging non-mobile-friendly site, Northwest Film Forum needed to redesign mobile usability and functionality, update our look and feel, and take a holistic approach to better express where we are today. Partnering with Shore, a local branding and digital agency, we tasked ourselves with redefining our online presence to help users engage with our films and to equip our filmmaking community with helpful resources.…
