Partners

Originally founded as a filmmaker collective, Northwest Film Forum has long valued strong partnerships as foundational for serving the community.

Northwest Film Forum is a member of the Capitol Hill Arts District, the densest arts neighborhood in the State of Washington. Our neighborhood is home to 40 arts and cultural organizations. Partnerships across the region with peer cultural institutions, community groups, and companies are vital for many programs at the Forum.

Some of the organizations we regularly partner with on screenings, educational programs, and events include:

Earshot Jazz, Grand Illusion Cinema, Longhouse Media, Moving Image Preservation of Puget Sound (MIPoPS), Blanket Fort Films, Reel Grrls, Scarecrow Video, Seattle Composers Alliance, Seattle Documentary Association, Seattle University, SIFF, Social Justice Fund, Three Dollar Bill Cinema, The University of Washington-Bothell, and more.

We partner with the following local film festivals by hosting and co-presenting events:

Deaf Spotlight Film Festival, Seattle Asian American Film Festival, Seattle Latino Film Festival, Seattle Polish Film Festival, Tasveer South Asian Film Festival, Seattle Web Fest, and Seattle Queer Film Festival.

Partner organizations who have offices in our venue:

Longhouse Media
Longhouse Media catalyzes Indigenous people and communities to use media as a tool for self-expression, cultural preservation, and social change. They have curated the Indigenous Showcase series at NWFF since 2015.

Seattle Globalist
Seattle Globalist is a daily online publication that connects Seattle with local and global issues. They elevate diverse voices and act as a bridge between ethnic and mainstream media.

Blanket Fort Films
Blanket Fort Films is a nonprofit film production company that empowers filmmakers from underrepresented communities (LGBTQ, POC, and Women) through cost-free access to motion picture education and gear.

Interbay Cinema Society
Interbay Cinema Society provides material support for filmmakers working experimentally with celluloid film. We support emerging and established filmmakers through the grant and our festival, and we encourage new filmmakers with our educational initiative.

Brave Sprout Productions
Brave Spout is a boutique video production house run by filmmaker Filiz Efe McKinney, which specializes in interview-driven narratives with a strong focus on educational and documentary filmmaking.
