MoPOP Matinee Takeover – Community-Driven Screenings
Everyone loves a good crossover episode — that’s why we’re bringing in some guest stars to continue supplying fresh content at MoPOP. For our Matinee Takeover, we’re teaming up with other local nonprofits to put a range of perspectives from the Seattle community onto our theater screen.
Cadence Video Poetry Festival is in the director’s chair, showcasing a choice selection of video poetry shorts in the Sound + Vision Theater at MoPOP. Each day at noon and 2:30pm, enjoy a 45-minute program of short films and other clips curated by Northwest Film Forum.
Screenings are included in your general admission ticket at no extra cost, making MoPOP Matinee Takeovers an easy and fun addition to your museum experience.

Short Film Program:
These short films will play together as a block at 12:00pm and 2:30pm every day MoPOP is open (daily except Wednesdays; closed Nov. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 for the holidays).

Lightwaves Soundwaves

A collection of wholesome ideas are inscribed on video images of Dwayne Jahn’s original handmade abstract artworks. An original soundtrack by Oxford Improviser Lawrence Casserley using water sounds, rain sticks, and his signal processor instrument, accompanies the videopoem.
